How much have you paid plumber recently in south east?

Wondering if anyone has had plumbing work done recently and could tell me their plumbers day or hour rate, for 1 days work, labour only, in SE close to London so pretty much London rates generally? Thanks

Last week I had a plumber out to repair a toilet which was not flushing properly. The innards needed replacing and it was about 3 hours work. Parts and labour were just under £200. I think it was £150 labour only. It was a lot but it can be difficult to get a plumber for a small job like that. I am in a similar part of the country to you.

Thanks, that is a similar hourly price per person I've been quoted.
My job is move and replace 3 radiators which will mean cutting floorboards to reroute pipes.
Replace two taps with tricky to reach plumbing.
Remove and replace toilet.

2 men, 1 day, 8 hours, £1500 labour.

Thing is - the taps and toilet are urgent so I suspect some is being added for someone who can do it quickly.

It's a lot, but it's so hard to find someone who will even come and bloody quote, particularly for smallish fiddly jobs.

Also South East. I was quoted £80ph plus vat, so call it £100ph, to change my bathroom taps to mixer taps. I also need 3 radiators replacing and flooring taken up for pipework, which like you OP, will be a days work. I realise it's the rate for a skilled experienced plumber, and thats fair enough, but I'll have to go without the work being done for now or wait until my Builder friend is free for "mates rates".

Lucky you have mates to give you rates 😁

Sadly I am stuck with paying through the nose and scraping elsewhere to make it up. Anyhow, at least I know it's the going rate at the mo.

We were quoted £90 to replace bathroom tap with mixer, and £120 to replace broken thermostatic valve on bathroom radiator, so yes that sounds about right unfortunately. We’re in SE London

HundredMilesAnHour · 25/01/2023 23:40

I was quoted £900 to replace and fit a new bathroom light. I kid you not!! Central London. No surprise that I declined.

Beach1983 · 26/01/2023 06:08

I was quoted £125 to repair a shower (he was here less than an hour) and £200 to remove and replace a radiator we are SE.

Bloody hell, maintenance is so expensive now.

I recently had some plumbing work done in the SouthEast, and the rates were pretty much in line with London prices. For labor-only jobs, the rates ranged from £150 to £250 per day, depending on the scope of work. It's always a good idea to get quotes from a few different plumbers to compare prices.

750 a day is a joke. Faith enough 100 an hour if it's a few hours but no way would I be paying that for a days work
400 would be the very max but that would be for a gas safe plumber
Standard plumber shouldn't be more than 250 a day
Finding one who doesn't take the mick is the problem

North East so definitely a cheaper area but I am still paying £60 an hour to a local plumber. we are mid-extension with new ensuite, utility and a kitchen move so lots of big jobs plus smaller plumbing jobs to do.
