Replacement kitchen unit shelves

I'm looking for where to buy extra/replacement cupboard shelves.

It's quite an old kitchen but we're not ready to replace yet. Width is 470mm and I haven't managed to find anything by googling.

I could get custom made, but that's looking expensive and I was looking for a cheaper solution. Has anyone had any luck finding replacement parts for old kitchens?

Personally, if I couldn't find anything the right size I'd buy an oversized piece of melamine-faced chipboard and cut it to size.

If you don't already own a suitable saw, the cheapest option is often a tenon saw, which has the advantage over a more common handsaw of making it easier to cut straight and having finer serrations (more "tpi" or teeth per inch) which will give a neater finish.

Alternatively, find a DIY store with a timber cutting service. Just make sure you take the measurements with you!

B&Q do a cutting service in most stores so could cut something to size for you.

That's great to know - didn't realise B&Q did that. There's a big one not too far away so I'll try there.
Thank you!

We just cut a melamine faced sheet to the right size and added a shelf in two cupboards. The slightly flecked pattern doesn't quite match - but how often do you leave the doors open?

I bought a sheet of white melamine and got it cut to size at Home base or B&Q. Aded benefit is that the cut shelves fitted in boot of car!
You can buy iron on edging strip if you have visible raw edges to conceal.
