Bathroom installation - Victoria Plum

I've had a quote for bathroom products and installation from VP. It's quite a bit more than I'd hoped for (£12k for a small bathroom in London!) but includes everything - floor, ceiling, tiles, lighting, all products etc.

Ludicrously they have not itemised the quote at all (just a list of non costed products and what building work will be done - but no cost breakdown) so it's not clear yet how it breaks down between products and labour (my job for tonight) - my guess from looking up the more expensive products is that they will come to (3-4k) do a whopping £8-9k for labour.

I'm waiting to get an alternative quote from a local builder using materials from a different stockist, but am interested in anyone who has used Victoria Plum for installation as well as products. There is a huge appeal in just dealing with one party but, though VP's TrustPilot reviews are good, there are some stinkers on there too (and some awful reviews on other smaller review sites).

Please do not go with Victoria plum for installation, just pick the bits you want and get a local plumber/builder to come and give you a quote. Show them what you want and ask for an exact itemised list of what you need to buy, you’ll be paying a HUGE difference - we got all of our goods from VP and had a few quotes. Ending up paying just shy of £8k and that was for a full remodel and knocking down a partitioning wall

Thanks. I've just had an email from them saying they don't provide any breakdowns of the quote (not even between parts and labour) which is a bit of a dealbreaker for me.

Go to an independent plumbing/bathroom supplier. They'll have a list of installers they're happy to recommend. They'll also draw up a detailed plan for you, based on your floorplan and chosen fittings.

Keep well away from VP. Dreadful service. Took them 6 weeks to replace a toilet after delivering the wrong one initially.

Worth trying a local bathroom showroom - independent - who will quote for everything included.

We had both our main bathroom and en suite completely remodeled last year - no.movement of pipes or electrics needed though - really good quality materials/products - and it cost around £15k for both in total. (Included new suites, all flooring, counter tops and tiling all completed.)

We are North Midlands not London but even in London I would say £12k is extortionate for VP which are not great anyway.

After delivering half of my order, Victoria plum then proceeded to postpone the remaining delivery six times. This delayed my renovation work, costing me out of pocket. Trying to cancel (once I had found and ordered the piece from a competent company) I had the same problem I had had throughout... the chatbot is useless... agents are often not available during advertised hours... I could never set up an account because the confirmation email would never come to my account... their system wouldn't recognise the reference number they sent me, etc. etc.. Nothing but headaches at every step along the way. AVOID!

Avoid Victoria Plum at all costs! They went bust in September this year and were bought out in a "pre-pack" deal by another company. The terms of the deal mean that they do not need to honour orders taken during and after the buy out.
I ordered a shower door in October that was not delivered and there is NO recourse. They simply say they will neither refund nor replace the item. That means that they took the order in October knowing they would not honour it and that is theft in my book. I don't care who the new owners are (a bed company), any company that does that is not one to do business with.
Do not confuse Victoria Plum with the legitimate business "Victorian Plumbing", which has a good reputation.

A larger company will have higher operating costs hence the price difference between the businesses.
DP has a renovations company, his last small bathroom installation was £14500. Materials were bought from Victoria Plumbing as the customer couldn't afford a plumbers merchant so they went for the online retailer instead.
He's West Yorkshire-based.

Terrible after sales, dont go near.
I have just completed a large shower room/ toilet / washstand. It included a shower surround and tray from victoriaplum. The shower tray that was delivered had been repaired not satisfactorily, and was missing the adjusters. It took forever to get past the CHATBOT and after supplying numerous photos by email i eventually got it replaced. The last item to fit was the shower surround. When it was nearly complete i found that a handle was missing. In fact the instructions said that it should be in a package separate from the rest of the shower surround. Clearly they had forgotten to deliver it. The response was "our policy requires missing items to be reported within 3 days" HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW! the instructions were inside the plastic bag of a glass panel and all of the shower parts were packed in a large cardboard box.
I WILL NEVER BUY FROM VICTORIAPLUM AGAIN. NO MATTER HOW CHEAP.
