Home address not appearing on standard drop-down menu

I am hoping the MN hive mind can offer some advice here, because I'm running out of ideas...

A few years ago I moved into a flat in a converted Victorian house where the flats used to have numbers 1, 2, 3 etc. but then one flat got bought up by the neighbour and turned into a maisonette and the numbers got adjusted (just for context).

The address of my flat doesn't turn up on the standard drop down menu you get on most websites which ask you to input your address. (it doesn't turn up with either its original number or the new number). I've meant to sort this out for years because it's a bit of a pain entering the address manually and sometimes you don't have that option. But I'm not sure how.

Is there a central database of addresses where I need to update it? If so, where would that be? The Land Registry? The city council? Any advice would be very much appreciated!

We had this for a while after a postcode change.

Ensure you're using the address from your council tax form

It may take 2 or 3 years to cascade through the various other sites underpinning data sets.

Go to the Royal Mail site and then:- Report An Incorrect Or Missing Address.

A bit like when you move into a newbuild, the developer will inform RM but you can preempt it by registering it yourself beforehand.

My house used to be a pub. I've lived in it 8 years and it was last a pub in 2005.some sites still only allow me to use the pub name (I'm looking at you BT) as they haven't paid for the updated addresses!! It's so bloody irritating

I've had this with a Victorian conversion.

Step one is to check what the land registry have your flat listed as, which will hopefully match your council tax bill.

The drop downs come from the Royal Mail master file. As pp said, register an incorrect address with them.

I had this in my first London rental. Royal Mail can resolve it, although we found it took a little while to pull through to some retailers.

Deffo contact the post office OP, it's the central database that all the other service providers take their details from. (A friend who works there told me)
