No heating/hot water. What do we do?

We moved into a house (rental) at the end of November. They have basically renovated an old ish property and it's all lovely and modern/new inside.

When we moved in we noticed that the floorboards in the hallway started to bow. We raised this and they said keep an eye on it.

So we did. Then it got bigger. Plumber came and put some solution in the pipes to sort out a leak and also took a strip of flooring around the skirting out so it would be able to go back down again.

We started to get issues with our boiler- no hot water or heating. We were losing pressure. We were told to just keep topping it up and re bleeding the radiators.

We have done so up until last week when an error code came up on the boiler. Told the estate agents and they told us no one could come until today.

So we had no hot water or heating. We had to buy some electric heaters for the time being and have been bathing baby in the sink; and we have signed up to a local gym to use their showers. My son has been having a shower at school.

The heating and water is still not working and the plumber said it's a 'big job' of re piping the radiators in the whole house. He said he 'may come back later'.

And that's how it's been left!

We pay £1800 a month for rent. We just don't know where we stand here? Should they put us up in accommodation if the works are huge? Do we get a refund on part of our rent?

It's frustrating; I am off to a laundrette today to do the washing otherwise it's going to start piling up. Don't really want to spend money on going to a gym for a shower either!

Where do we stand? Any ideas or help would be great. Thank you!

Can't help with most of it, but the washing machine should run from a cold water feed. So you can do the washing at home, unless you need the heating on to dry it.

How long have you been without heating and hot water?

Of course! I'm not sure why I didn't think that haha!
