Mixed race family wanting to move out of London

Hi all,
would like some advice about options moving out of London. We are a mixed race family I am of Bangladeshi origin (born in London) and my husband is English from West Sussex. Our little one is 1 years old we are looking to relocate out of London but struggling to find where

We would require:

Diverse area very important with diverse primary schools (I don’t want somewhere where my kid is the only one of a few mixed race kids in the class
good community, young families
vibrant
green area where we can go for walks
my husband needs to get in to Liverpool Street for work (1 hour max journey ideally less)
down to earth not too snobby areas
3 bedroom

our Budget is 550,000 stretching to 600 for the right place and need a garden.

We would love to stay in London but I don’t think realistically with our price it’s possible.

we have considered Woking, Guildford, Epsom and maybe Sutton. Can somebody please offer any advice and any thoughts on the areas listed.

Thank you!

We live in stratford. Really close to the a12/m11 for m25. Very very diverse. Also still within your price range- especially if you move further towards Plaistow.

Egham, Staines, Ashford (Surrey).

Commuting from Surbiton is really quick and its close to some great green spaces. Lovely shops and cafes but I didn't suggest it as I don't think its within your budget. May be worth a look at whats on offer though.

I second Bromley - Bickley & Chislehust

Sevenoaks is nice and easy commute, huge park with deer, but not cheap

Incredibly expensive and not as well connected for transport.
Beautiful though!

Lots of properties like this in the Bexley and Bromley boroughs. Lots of choice re: grammar schools too.

I used to live in an area where Woking was the nearest town. It had some investment in the town centre, but I’m told by relatives who are local, that it’s very run down now. Parts are diverse, but others are less so. I’m told that town centre traffic is a nightmare, but then many town centres have dreadful traffic.

I wouldn’t choose to live there again.

I don't know it particularly well but I'd have thought Woking would suit you well. You'd get to Harrow and Pulborough within the hour by car and it's a good fast train journey to Waterloo.

It's pretty mixed and has what I think is the UK's oldest Mosque.

I'd go and take a look and see what you think.

Maidenhead, Slough?

Why not look along the Elizabeth line?

Personally I think you need to prioritise as the Harrow / West Sussex / London Liverpool St triangle is pretty massive.

Realistically which is the most important 'point' on the triangle and be closer to that point.
If one set of grandparents is way more involved than the other, be closer to them. If you are half way between grandparents, they will both be over an hour away plus you'll probably be somewhere in Surrey and are the train links to Liverpool good from there?

OP what did you decide?!!

We’re a mixed race family and my parents are from West Sussex too. We’re in east London zone four! We also don’t want to leave London and one reason is we would also like Dc to be in a diverse school.

If the Blackwall tunnel is ok we can get to west sussex in an hour 15, although my parents are slightly more north than pulborough! Agree with pps that Gants Hill or South Woodford would work and tick many boxes!!

Stay in London. House prices are dropping.
