New bathroom cost

Hi all,
Just moved to a house that needs a bit of work doing to it. Just wondering if anyone has recently got a new bathroom, could you please tell me how much it cost? (Including labour costs for it to be installed) Just trying to get a rough idea in my mind so that I can plan whether I'll be able to get it done this year or if I have a bit more saving to do!

Also, would you recommend using a big company (Wickes, Victoria Plumb etc) or independent tradesmen? If using independent traders, do I need to find a plumber and a tiler and an electrician separately or do I find one and they arrange everything themselves? What are the pros and cons of using a big company Vs an independent firm?
Thanks!

Currently having ours done. It's costing £6300 plus tiles £250 (tradesman got a trade discount for them). Cost includes complete removal, installing freestanding toilet, vanity unit and sink, bath with shower over, tiling, touching up a little plastering, and installation of Karndean flooring.

We were totally messed about by Wickes, delays, unnecessary appointments, our installer resigned and they didn't let us know (job had already been put back three months).

Ended up using a local chap, seemed like a breeze by comparison. He doesn't like to use his own suppliers though as he knows they'll sort out any missing or damaged parts quick (this has happened, and they're going to deliver a new bath panel). It'll take him 6 days to do (he assures us he'll get it done on time whatever as he has another job next day and he doesn't let customers down. Wickes were going to take three weeks.

I've been quoted £15K for gutting and replacing everything in a large bathroom in a Victorian house, inc. having a new floor laid and walls fully tiled.

That's in Berkshire.

Been quoted £14k plus £5k materials for new bathroom which will include knocking thru the wall between WC and bathroom ( wall but load bearing ) replastering walls and ceiling, fixing wall panels ( rental so no faff with tiles ) all electrics , levelling flooring between the 2 rooms ( wall not load bearing). So at end of the project there will be an L shaped bathroom instead of very narrow bathroom and separate WC. Whatever I decide the WC needs replacing anyway.

I know the team and their work is excellent - still feels pricey though ( SW London ).
any thoughts ?

Ours was just over £10k 5 years ago. Good size bathroom, opted not to have a bath and mid price fittings accept for Porcelovosa tiles.

Forget to say we are in an expensive south east,

Personally I’d find a trade supplier and chose the fittings I want from a variety of manufacturers rather than being stuck with just what eg Victoria Plumbing have on offer

Then employ a plumber, plasterer and tiler separately. It’s the cheapest way to do it

but I’d get quotes from individuals and one that does all three. Or at least plastering, painting and tiling combined
With lots of quotes and talking to the individuals and looking online you can get an idea if they are any good

To add, doing it this way by separating out the workmen and chosing and buying your own stuff and doing your own layout the price won’t be in the range pps are saying. Which seem huge and I’m in the SEast.
Have done louds in my line of work
