Cost of kitchen installation

Hi everyone,

What would you expect to pay for medium-sized kitchen installation? 15 sq ft, appliances in roughly the same place, will need current kitchen/tiling ripping out, and for now let's assume it excludes worktops as we may get quartz, fitted by the specialists.

Just trying to work out a rough budget. We're waiting for a quote from a relative who is a builder (very experienced, very good, so probably not the cheapest but I don't mind paying a bit more for the peace of mind). I don't want to chase him on NYE but we have another kitchen design appointment at Wren tomorrow and it would be helpful to have a rough idea of installation costs.

Wren's estimate for their own fitters was £3,700 but the designer said they tend to be on the more expensive side so it might be a bit less. Does that sound right?

Thank you

Ours was about £3000 to strip out units and tiled floor, remove and replace radiator and lighting. Independent local fitter, effectively project managed the whole installation for us.

I’d say about £3-4k

I did exactly the same recently. Joiner was about £30 and hour and took about 3 days. Needed a gas engineer and plumber to disconnect the job/sink then reconnect which was around £200. Then paid plastering/painter on top of that.
Our joiner is also planning to return to do the pointing as the specialists don’t seem to do that for some reason 🤔

Also…. Paid an electrician to move sockets/make new sockets + lights. So all in probably about 3-4 K.

I was quoted 7k to fit a 3k kitchen, including ripping out old kitchen

This has all been very helpful, thanks everyone!

Ilea are charging £2.5, but I have been quoted between £3k -£5k depending on work needed.

“Dry fitting” which is remove old and fit new with no appliances is obviously the cheapest.

We paid £3000 for the kitchen units and worktops and the rest of it replastering electrics fitting and tiling walls and floor came to around another £3000
