Hoping that someone can give me an idea on the cost of putting in a new boiler, total replumb, replace existing radiators and move from under the windows to a more suitable area.
Its a 4 bed detached house.
Anyone had this done recently please?

My son is buying a 2 bed flat without gas central heating. Have identified an old gas pipe in the kitchen plus the flat below has gas central heating so looking to get the gas reconnect and put in a mid priced 24kw combi plus 5 radiators of various sizes. No pipe work and concrete floors so will need to go around the skirting cost between £3.5k and £4.5k depending on combi and which radiators he chooses. Will then have to pay to get the pipe work boxed in or could possible do it himself.

I will do. We haven’t actually started yet so I can’t vouch for the finished product but he was recommended by our electrician (v highly recommended tradesman) who does a lot of renovation jobs with him, hopefully that’s a good sign!

Johnd2 'What's not to like?' you ask. In a word, I would reply 'Mice'. They may not be a problem where you are, but here (rural area) we've had two serious leaks under the floorboards caused by mice chewing the blue heavy duty (blue) plastic cold water pipes. At the time, we had two cats, as well. Plastic piping is very convenient but - as we found - it sometimes needs protection (being put inside a bigger pipe or plastic trunking etc) for protection.

If you've had a quote for £6k for a new boiler, relocating that boiler, new pipework, new radiators etc etc, I'd say that's a very good price. I used a company on my property down south (Pinnacle Plumbing) and just for the new boiler and relocation (from kitchen to upstairs airing cupboard) it was nearly £5k.

I can't speak for Manchester prices vs Surrey prices, but down here I'd expect £8k at least for all the work you've listed!

@SlipperySlope99 that’s a bargain!

@websites4trades Wonder if we’re not getting everything we want.
