Critique my kitchen plan

I've attached our kitchen drawing, which is the first time we've seen the plan and the first time I've renovated a kitchen!

We currently don't have the island, that's potentially being added in the new kitchen.

We need more storage, better cupboard access/space and we are merging our current utility room and kitchen together.

My first issues would be the induction hob being on the island. I don't want to carry hot pans etc, we also have a young baby who will be crawling soon. I don't know where else the induction hob could go? I don't want to brick the wall up as we'd lose a lot of light but I think this may be the only option?

Also, send me your best ideas/must haves that you've added into a new kitchen :)

I went for side by side. The micro oven is smaller so I got a warming drawer to even it up.

when I stacked I had the combi oven on top. I hated lifting stuff out in case it spilled on me. And I couldn’t really see the display.

my new kitchen is designed my my height! Drawers unstated of cupboards to I don’t have to reach into the back. And I even changed the window over the conk so I can reach to close it!!!

Consider changing the placing of the handles - we had all of ours put central and horizontal-below the work surface - we do have vertical handles above

it just looks so much neater in a run.
it seems odd but takes 2 seconds to get used to it!

I agree with others. You dont have space for an island. I love an island. But no island is better then a mean one or one that isn't central and useful. That position emphasises the unusual shape of the room rather then balances it. Id also want to make the new bi folds sing.

I'd be tempted to build banket seating along your back wall so you have a relaxed seating space in your kitchen with those people facing you. And then place dining table infront of it. Banket seating can also provide storage underneat for lesser used items like baking equipment and serving dishes etc.

What is it you are trying to achieve with your re-design. Is it the incorporating the utility into the space?

I agree not we. There’s not a group of us here critiquing your plans!

Lol!

Instead of a fitted island, how about a rolling one?

Agree the hob has to go elsewhere even if you lose a window

I would have a range cooker so that the hob and oven are in the same place. The best location appears to be below where the double wall units are.
I'm not a fan of island , especially if it's one for sitting at . Then again I'm a shortarse and hate climbing onto bar stools. I much prefer a table and chairs which can be moved .
