tatty kitchen worktops

Our kitchen work tops - dark grey marble effect laminate (not our choice!) are beginning to look tatty - scratched and in some places the colour seems faded/worn off). The rest of the kitchen is still smart and the work tops themselves are solid and decent, so I wondered if there were ideas for renovating or resurfacing the work tops. I am willing to throw a bit of money at it.

If they are scratched I’m not sure what you could do. Is replacing them an option?

Potentially - although the actual work tops are in good condition, just cosmetically they are looking a but tired. So I wondered if there was an option to resurface them, as it were.

Yes there is & I've done it. You can get worktop 'laminate' on a roll, peel and stick. You need to be skillful with your hands but when done it looks fabulous.

ooh thanks - i'll look in to that. Is it the sort of thing you can get on Amazon?

does it stand up to hard wear? We cook a lot and it is a small kitchen so the surfaces are regularly wiped down.

there are companies that do a worktop overlay basically a thin worktop that fits over the old one i dont know about prices but they look good anything thats peels and sticks is not going to be hard wearing
