Sub zero concrete post

Hello all

Pls it is advisable to do a concrete slab for garden post in the current sub zero conditions.

Landscaper coming tomorrow I am not sure if I should allow them go ahead or cancel and wait till spring or summer. (Landlord is a very dear close friend of mine & seeking advice)

Also he is asking to use electricity at the property. I am currently a tenant here although I said yes without thinking but now I am thinking shouldn't the landscaper have his own independent source of power especially in this current climate of very high energy costs?

Thanks

Concrete is fine, especially for a fence post. Concrete hardens due to a chemical process. A retardant can be added, but in any case it’s not that cold as to cause an issue.
If they do need power , it’s only for saws or cutters, probably a couple of £ a day. Most landscaper’s will have their own generator, but then you have more noise and fumes.

hmm whenwe needed to repair steps to the house (concrete blew in frost) we had to wait until ig was frost free and forcast was at least 3 days frost free.
but I appreciate that steps are a different construction than a fence post.
