Fitted bathroom furniture

Can anyone recommend good fitted bathroom furniture?

Have had a couple of quotes for £3k+ for only the cupboards/base units x4/5. I thinks it's insane.

Can anyone recommend any brands/diy options that are more affordable.

Anyone had any experience using howdens for bathroom ?

Thanks!

Ive just designed a bathroom with no cupboards. What are they?

Dalooah · 05/12/2022 01:44

Something like the photo.

Fitted cupboards/drawers alongside a vanity worktop for great storage options.

I do feel like these are considered more foreign/American here but are so practical. I hate a single sink/single 'vanity' sink.

We've ended up ordering some from Deuco which worked well for the space we have. It was the cheaper range stocked in the bathroom showroom we used.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 05/12/2022 07:11

Mine were from Howdens and I am really happy with them.

Oh ok. I always wondered what people put in these things? (Sorry derailed but I am curious)

I bought my bathroom stuff in drench mostly if that is any use, they had these.

I designed my bathroom in my old house with kitchen units- it was the only way I could get proper floor to ceiling cupboards, actual bathroom cupboards only went to 3/4 height

lemonyfox · 05/12/2022 07:48

We've had a super experience with ordering online from Drench and the quality is good! They will likely have things like the above.

We used Paramount bathrooms in Southampton.

PurBal · 05/12/2022 08:03

@demotedreally loo roll, soap/shower gel/bubble bath, cleaning products and equipment, towels/flannels, cosmetics, razors, medicine, if you have children then toys / nappies etc. Basically anything you might want to use in the bathroom.

I’m following with interest. We already have fitted cupboards (old house) but no under sink cupboard, also considering freestanding vanity unit.

All the bathroom stuff?! So it's not out getting in the way/dusty.

In ours: spare loo rolls, bottles of shampoo/shower gel, bars of soap, hair stuff, toothbrush charger, make up, painkillers (so don't have to go downstairs in middle of night), contact lens stuff, bathroom cleaning products, kid stuff like Snufflebabe, toilet bags for holidays, sanitary products.

I always use slimline wall hung Duravit.

Have you looked at Roper Rhodes? Not super cheap but good quality and also not the most expensive. Got some units 5 years ago and they look as good as new still. These things are relatively expensive, I'm not sure if there is a way around that other than scaling back (perhaps just one vanity unit) or going to IKEA.

Hoppinggreen · 05/12/2022 10:21

We got ours from B&Q
They did an online appointment and talked us through various designs etc, I was quite impressed. It wasn’t a huge area but included the sink and toilet and wall cabinets and was around £1000 I think
It looks great too

demotedreally · 05/12/2022 21:18

Sorry for sounding like an idiot. I think we just have less volume of that sort of stuff.

Yellownotblue · 05/12/2022 21:51

I heartily second using kitchen units. Personally I prefer higher vanities, I don’t get why vanities are traditionally so low in this country - it kills my back. I also like having a deeper worktop so there’s ample space around the sinks.

I designed mine out of IKEA Metod cabinets, with drawer fronts from Superfront, and a good quality worktop.

They look great, if I may say so myself ☺️. The amount of storage is unbelievable. Still in the process of being fitted with sinks, taps, etc, but here’s a preview.

Go to your local plumber's merchant. They'll have all the trade catalogues and better prices than the internet.

Thanks for the advice everyone!

Absolutely agree- low vanities and not deep enough! Why!?
Your solution looks fab!
