Wood effect tiles

in my indecisive search for flooring for my new extension I have now moved on from Ltv to wood effect tiles.

i am running out of time! Anyone done this recently? Pictures gratefully accepted.

Doing about 80m2. Love a warm wood look - but it has to work in a downstairs loo, utility room and kitchen.

We have ltv, but someone I know has the weird effect tiles. I would definitely go for the tiles, they look great and take more punishment.

If you want tiles, go for it. They don't look like wood though.

Do you have them? Do you think the ltv looks better?

I don’t think the ltv really looks like wood either to be honest. But I am
£40k over budget already and my original £12k flooring budget has reduced considerably!!!

A website called walls and floors has lots of wood effect tiles!

We put warm wood effect tiles in our kitchen, utility and small toilet last year. They look fantastic and lots of people have been genuinely surprised to hear that they are tiles - they always do a double take when we tell them. (I am not in the UK however and I presume you are, so it's probably not helpful to share the supplier!!). My only word of warning is that a dropped mug did manage to slightly chip one tile. It's not noticeable though to be honest due to the pattern of the tiles.

We have them. I'm really happy with them, originally went with LVT but once they'd fitted a chunk of it I hated the plasticy shininess of it, so much to DH's annoyance changed for tiles.
They are a bit chilly underfoot, we have UFH in the kitchen and conservatory but not in the hall and it does get cold.

tilder · 21/11/2022 22:09

I don't have have them, but two friends do. They look ok but not the same as wood. Don't feel the same either.

I'm not keen, because I don't like fake floors, but my friends love them. Much cheaper. Very practical. Cold if no underfloor heating.

Get them because you like them, not because you expect them to look exactly like wood.

😂 okay tilder thanks!

I don’t want to have real wood because is water damage in the kitchen. Glad to hear some people have liked the tiles

Stayed in a holiday let that had them in the kitchen. I had always thought they would look false and a bit 'pretend'.... nope. They were stunning.

Would def consider if ever change our kitchen floor.

We put them in 5 years ago and I still love them.
People think they are wood and they are really hard wearing.

No regrets.

MiniCooperLover · 22/11/2022 09:17

We have Karndean LVT. I know you said you've moved on but we love it. I'm not fooling myself it looks like real wood or anybody but I love it anyway 😊
