Swopping ends of an open plan kitchen/lounge?

So we have a smallish (for MN) lounge/dining room/kitchen

The hall end is a 3.2 by 3.6 lounge the garden end is 3.6 by 5m kitchen area separated by a breakfast bar

Along the right hand side is the water/drains from the understairs loo to the sink/drain at the furthest end of the kitchen with gas pipes on that side too

The kitchen has amazing French doors onto the covered deck/garden

I'd like to swop it so the kitchen is off the hall and the lounge has direct access to outside

Is moving the water/gas towards the source/hall be easy(ish) as its moving closer?

What else can go wrong?

Yes I am struggling with my design

The door in blue goes to the conservatory which has drains but not water.....so not sure about the washing machine

Another idea for the washing machine is under the stairs next to the downstairs loo but the staircase is bricked up so we'd have to make the hole bigger

My need for symmetry & worksurface is killing me

here is what I might do with that space. I'm trying to put tall things in the corners and make the space feel more open.

So put the Fridge Freezer right next to the door (FF) with a pair of cupboards next to it. These can all be a be shallower so the gap (blue arrow) is bigger. And open shelves above would give space for decorative plates or nice stuff.

On the other side, have the ovens in the corner (O) then a run of drawers (D) Hob (H) drawers (D). I would make this worksurface (2) a little deeper than normal. Say 80cm rather than 60cm. because the space at the back lets you keep more applicances (kettle / toaster / mixer etc) without losing worktop space. I have taken out the corner & cupboard nearest the door because a straight run of units with the tall stuff in the corner is so much neater. Also the corner cupboard (C) would move up a little and be a straight cupboard but only one side opens and you just reach in to the other side.

On the peninsula, I moved the sink and dish washer up a bit to give more space. And I would have a half wall with a bit of an upstand (3) to separate the kitchen space from the dining space and make sure the diners are not seeing the washing up all the time.

finally, I'd have a nice dresser (not too deep) on the dining room wall between the patio door and conservatory door to give lots of storage for plates and dishes and also be decorative.

Yes the upstand I labelled high plinth on a previous drawing

That corner is a still a pain but if I put a cupboard there I'll have to empty it to read the water meter so stopping short is probably good maybe ever just a diagonal worksurface over the space

And personal preference I hate the corner cupboard you have to stretch in I'd rather use a smaller cupboard and have the other side accessed from the lounge

The sideboard with the TV is going where you suggested the dresser (which is probably going on the wall opposite)

Still cogitating
