Black around window seals due to condensation

Urgh this time of year I hate the wet dripping down the windows!
Condensation from cooking, showering and bathing etc causes the windows to steam up, water drips down the glass and gathers along the bottom of the window where the seal bit joins the white pvc. I wipe them with kitchen roll every morning.
We have air vents open on windows, and dehumidifier bags.
How can I get rid of the black already on the seal?!
Does everyone get this problem?
And is it black toxic mould? I'm freaking out.

Do you open your windows much? I regularly open mine several times during the day.
The only time I've ever had condensation like yours, is when I had wet washing drying in my bedroom whilst the windows and door were closed.
I think opening the windows is the best solution. I don't think the air vents are enough.

It won't help with the black but I get really bad condensation on my bedroom windows and recently started using a paper cup half full of salt on each sill behind the blinds. Works a treat! Just need to change the salt every few days.

Get yourself one or two humidity monitors (see Amazon), probably one or two dehumidifiers and check the videos on Youtube.

I’ve just seen a TikTok cleaning video of someone removing mould stains off bathroom sealant with this product. For 99p it’s worth a go on your windows. I’ve added some to my home shopping delivery, I do bleach our sealant twice a week but there are still some black stains, id rather give this a go than scrape it all out & reseal it all.

The Astonish mould and mildew remover me tinned above should do the trick.

If your windows get a lot of condensation overnight, definitely wipe them (a microfibre clth should do it...though I have a window vac that is fab and sucks it all up) and tjen open them for a bit.

For mould in window/shower seals/grout squeeze a bead of bleach along the mouldy bit, cover with cotton wool pads/pleats and leave overnight.
Gets rid of mould. It's incredible.

Remove the condensation twice daily with a Karcher window vacc.
No damp=no mould.

Reduce the relative humidity by-
Producing less moisture: don't dry clothes indoors, put lids on cooking pots, shorter showers, 2 inches cold water in bath before you run the hot in( reduces steam by about 50%).
Get rid of more moisture: ventilate, leave extractor fans running, use a dehumidifier, use your Karcher window vacc to remove moisture from windows, bathroom tiles, wherever you can find it.

@Irishflower I just wanted to update about the astonish mould and mildew remover I linked. It is AMAZING!

I have left neat bleach, twice a week every week, for months on our black stained bath/shower sealant with no joy. This Astonish spray arrived this morning and I sprayed it on, wodged strips of toilet paper over it then drenched it with more spray and I’ve just been to check it. The black is now pretty much all gone, there are just a couple of blobs I will leave for longer. I’m definitely going to be trying this on the sealant on our windows now too. I wish I’d taken before pics now so I could show you the comparison. Definitely worth a go for 99p.

I do all I can to reduce condensation, wipe each morning, open windows, use dehumidifier, always shower with windows open etc but there is always still condensation. It’s a pain.

Another tip - when cooking things like boiled potatoes and veg, if you keep the kitchen door closed it will stop damp air spreading through the rest of the house. Have the kitchen window open as well.
