Mobile phone mast

Recently viewed a property which we fell in love with. We offered and luckily got accepted. Unfortunately on our second viewing we discovered that there is a mobile phone mast at the other side of the fence right at the end of the garden (60ft). I don’t know how we missed it on our first viewing but I suspect it was hidden by the trees in the garden. With the leaves gone it is really obvious and a real eyesore.

I know a lot of the health scares around mobile phone masts have been debunked but I’m still feeling a bit wary about living right next to one.

Would you buy a property next to a mobile mast?

From doing some research the mast was erected in 2020 and strangely enough the house next door and another house a few doors down are selling up too.

The 'health scares' would not be a conern. What it looks like would.

I have Physics qualifications so it wouldn't bother me at all because I understand why the silly scare stories aren't true.

It would probably be a selling point for me because I assume it might be a bit cheaper and phone signal should be great.

I work for a mobile network, I've been sitting underneath a mobile mast every work day for nearly 30 years, no health concerns. Visually, I'd need to see it to know, but I doubt it would bother me.

I wouldn't worry about the health risk.
But I'd worry about some people being put off by it when you come to sell, for the same worries you have.

If it's your forever home, then go right ahead... if not then mentally prepare for a tougher sale....
There is a reason people (especially expectant mothers) avoid these masts and electrified train tracks - and no amount of 'reassurance' from a salesman will change their mind so be prepared to lose a % of your prospective buyers.
