Bedroom layout help

I live in a one bedroom flat with no storage, the room has a built in closet but it’s small you can’t reach the ends of the rail due to walls in the way you have to lean right in while almost in the cupboard. The rest is all mix of old furniture. I want to update the room and have considered knocking down the closet. We currently have 1 wardrobe/closet and a small metal rail wardrobe and a chest of draws each. I’ve also thought about built in wardrobe. But I would need to get slightly more storage than I have now. There is also a window between the storage ottoman and dressing table. Room isn’t perfectly to scale as I didn’t have long to do it.

how about this

  • shift the bed 180deg and put the headboard on the opposite wall
  • add some bedside tables - always useful. you could keep one chest of drawers as a bedside table between bed and door if it is a nice decorative one (maybe the smaller one)
  • get rid of the built in wardrobe
  • have built in floor-to-ceiling cupboards along the whole of the wall where the bed headboard currently is. that maximises your storage. you can have a mix of drawers and hanging space with space for suitcases etc in the high up bits.
  • get rid of the ottoman and extra chests of drawers

Where is the window?

It’s above the storage box

Hi, I wonder if it could help to replace some of the furniture to maximise storage space? If you google furniture ferret, they list wardrobes chests etc. by size.

I think floor to ceiling built in wardrobes. You can go for "invisible" with floor to ceiling doors painted or wallpapered to disappear, or visible with whatever finish you want,

That way you can remove all the extra, choppy pieces in the room but add beside tables. How do people manage without them? You will have a more cohesive space.

By that I mean remove the existing wardrobe, put a floor to ceiling one along the entire wall opposite the bed.
Then make a window seat with the window.

Add double wardrobe doors or wider doors to reach all the space?
