Yes

ShineyCrab · 20/10/2022 09:06

We can't tell you, but probably yes. It's usually long term flushing of pads and tampons that will clog the pipes.

ShineyCrab · 20/10/2022 09:06

My kids have definitely flushed worse to be fair.

MrsMoastyToasty · 20/10/2022 09:11

Unless you have a habit of doing it or the property has very small drainage pipes it shouldn't be a problem. I used to work for the local water and sewerage company and the items that made it all the way to the treatment works included jewelry, teeth and Action Men to name a few.
However don't do it again consider yourself told off and go and sit in the naughty corner

Get some drain cleaner, Mr Muscle is good. Follow the instructions on the back, it’s really simple but follow the instructions do not just slurp it down the drain.

it will clear any incipient blockage.

Oblomov22 · 20/10/2022 09:19

Don't worry about it. One off. Tiredness. As pp said get some mr muscle drain blocker.
When you go to visit sewage sites and see all the tampons and pads it is grim. Many of friends husbands actually do this job. Thank god for them!

And wipes!! When my plumber came to change the flush box and he had just come from a job removing hundreds of wipes that had clogged the whole house sewage.
Don't flush wipes!

What is a 'blue' period pad???

If you have modern plumbing, a one off should be fine in terms of your own pipe work blocking. Dreadful with the current heavy rains in our area though where overflow at the sewerage works will be washed into rivers and the sea though 😩

It will be fine. I wouldn’t make a habit of it but one won’t wreck it. I remember being taught to tear pads lengthways to flush them when I was a teenager. Wouldn’t do it now, but it seemed to be standard advice in the 80s. No drains were blocked.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 21/10/2022 00:53

Not if youve got a Saniflo type thing.

I was coming here to say this. Obviously wouldn't dream of flushing them now, but when I was a teen, tearing them in half and flushing is what we were told to do. We never had any blockages in all the years of doing that so I imagine you'd have to be desperately unlucky after just one.

Thanks for your input everyone. I have no idea what toilet system I have!
I feel very stupid for doing so!

It helps if you know how your pipes are laid out.

If the bath connects into the same stack, as in most fairly modern homes, it can help things flow away.

Second bathrooms, added or altered after the house was built, are more likely to have dodgy waste pipes.

Obviously saniflow are horrible
