'Waste management' site. A big one. Skips are hired out to building sites and domestic customers and returned and sorted at the site. Inert things like rubble and plastic.

We've seen a house that looks ideal but did a Google map satellite view and the site is right next to it. Is it even worth viewing?

Absolutely not what's the discount to price for a similar house nearby that's not next to the tip?

pilates · 17/10/2022 07:05

No

AlwaysLatte · 17/10/2022 07:05

Definitely not. The smell and noise!

TowerblocksAndSunflowers · 17/10/2022 07:11

I wouldn't be worried about smell - most skips are filled with building waste - but I would be very worried about noise and lorries so no, I wouldn't even consider this property.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 17/10/2022 08:01

Big No, for all the reasons listed previously.

But I'd be very intrigued to see a link, now that you've decided against it??

TootMootZoot · 17/10/2022 10:06

The only reason to buy it would be if it was crazy cheap and you wanted to rent it out.

C4tastrophe · 17/10/2022 11:41

you may as well post the link for us then.

hattie43 · 17/10/2022 11:42

Sorry but no

Inapicklee · 17/10/2022 19:01

Is this a property near Halifax by any chance?

Eminybob · 17/10/2022 19:06

My mil had a house next to a site exactly how you describe.
She made numerous complaints to environmental health due to noise etc and it really affected her standard of living until she moved.

So no.

Asdf12345 · 17/10/2022 19:12

Absolutely if the finances meant I could
afford a house considerably better than otherwise.

AMDB5 · 17/10/2022 19:15

No, it will be loud and reek

FistFullOfRegrets · 17/10/2022 19:20

nooooooo

You won't regret walking away from this one.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 17/10/2022 19:31

Oi @RoxieLoxy, we all want to see the fabulous dump palace!

Wonnle · 17/10/2022 20:00

Not even if it was a tenner

EwwSprouts · 17/10/2022 20:05

No. Not if you ever want to peacefully sit out in your garden.

Bentley123 · 17/10/2022 20:18

Nope- link?

HaveYouSeenNancy · 17/10/2022 20:33

No way. Would you have a house full of flies, dust and noise if you opened your windows in the summer?

lannistunut · 17/10/2022 20:39

No, no, no.

WizardOfUK · 17/10/2022 20:41

No! The smell would put me off

I live next to a major road and railway, but would drawn the line at any kind of waste management site, may parents used to and the smell, noise and flys were grim

user53852098 · 17/10/2022 20:44

I worked next to the recycling centre and it wasn't smelly but when it was windy a lot of stuff was blown about, also there would be lots of noisy skip lorries

Aintnosupermum · 17/10/2022 20:46

Nope. Not for the smell but for the risk of future environmental issues.

vera99 · 17/10/2022 20:48

Is that not Robbie Willaims's gaff ?

RedWingBoots · 17/10/2022 20:54

No

One of my friends use to live down the road from one - about 1.5 miles. The HGVs were bloody noisy and the council ended up restricting their hours of operation due to the number of residents complaining.
