Burnished/antique brass knobs for kitchen cupboards

I'm wanting these for Shaker kitchen cupboards but my friend says the burnishing/antiquing has worn off on hers over time. Does anyone have any better experience?

Also what about combination of knobs on the cupboards and handles (bow not cup) on the drawers. Would this work? Any advice gratefully received Thank you

We've got a combination of knobs, cups and pull handles - looks great! Having said that, it is a large kitchen so you never really get the effect of having all three styles. No issues with the finish wearing off either.

Frank Allart are high quality. I would trust them. Not cheap But you get what you pay for.

Friends went for copper. It's gorgeous with shaker style

Everything I've bought from this shop has always been amazing quality - proper old-fashioned hardware:

Thank you. All really helpful. There's an huge range in the cost of cabinet ironmongery - British Standard want £25 for a 32mm knob, whereas heritage brass by M Marcus is £4.90. It's hard to see what the difference is

I just wouldn’t buy brass. Looks dated. There’s much nicer finishes! Feel the weight. Make sure the finish will last. Are they laquered? Will it wear off? Is it great design or boring? I love Turnstyle Design. We have their door handles throughout our house. I love what they bring to the house every day! Expensive but stunning.

Yester Home does great quality antique brass knobs and pulls. They're about £8 for a mushroom knob. No rubbing off. Looks fab in our white shaker kitchen.

Consider this op, it's just an idea. I have cup handles over my entire kitchen. The kitchen designer suggested putting them as you would on the drawers but also centred on the lower front of each wall cupboard and upper front of each floor cupboard. The look is smooth & continuous throughout and looks balanced. There's no difference in usage having the handles centred instead of in the corner.

Frank Allart knobs are beautiful (with a hefty price tag) but be aware they are usually unlacquered so will continue to age.

M. Marcus has a great range although their antique brass is lacquered so it should stay the same. They are nearly all brass based, as opposed to being made of cheaper base metals like zinc which don't hold the finish as well. I think you have to buy from stockists but their website www.m-marcus.com will show you their range.

The new Hoxton range by frelan hardware are nice too.

Alot of those are from a company called from the anvil. Again lovely stuff but unlacquered so will continue to change. Read the finish notes on each product carefully. Again you have to buy from stockists I think but you can see their range here.

Thank you - very helpful advice to look at the base metal. I now find myself heading down a knob and handle rabbit hole on the internet. Liking the look of copper though, to go with dark units.
