We're having a new kitchen in January and I'm looking for recommendations of where to buy our quartz. Budget is an issue so am wondering where people bought theirs.
We're in the SE

We bought Lunastone after several recommendations on mumsnet. It's 6 years old now and not a single scratch, mark or stain on it (we're not particularly careful & I cook a lot of curry).

We ordered direct from the manufacturer and the price was around 30% less than a shop who sells it on. They'll give you an online quote if you fill out the form and provide dimensions.

I'd really recommend visiting the showroom in St Albans as the tiny samples they send are not representative at all of the full size slab:

Thanks so much I've sent a message!

I used Gemini worktops and they were fantastic - easy to get a quote if you have the dimensions and they'll send samples too

Gemini were super expensive for us (Herts). We got a much more reasonable price from Rock (Cambridge and Stevenage).

AuntSalli · 11/10/2022 10:16

Gemini came in at about two grand for one piece un cut, there’s absolutely no way I could pay £4000 for my tiny kitchen.

Baxdream · 11/10/2022 10:19

Oh good to know! Me either!

So far Gemini are the cheapest!

So far Gemini are the cheapest!

They are lovely I mean you can see the quality difference. I’m just not sure I can justify it you know when you work out the percentage of what you should spend on the house and overall it shouldn’t be more than 10% on the kitchen and the bathroom.

SummerSazz · 19/10/2022 09:01

Gemini were £3.3k for me and that was 9m including up stands and fitting. For quartz I think that was a good price and I love them!

MyBuggyIsOutToGetMe · 19/10/2022 13:41

Wow, @SummerSazz , that’s a really good price. They wanted over £5k to do ours, which is definitely not 9m! We went with a local firm and are paying about £3.5k. Gemini were very quick to ask what others had quoted but couldn’t match the local price.

SummerSazz · 19/10/2022 14:27

I got a 30% discount which they were offering at the time (oct 2021). I imagine prices have increased since then though given global events! Worth waiting for an offer to come out which I'm sure it will towards Xmas.

When I just looked at their website the trustpilot reviews are great and I was happy to pay a bit more for that. Their measurers and fitters were great too.

Found this if it's helpful to anyone Smile

Have a look on their fb to access this I guess 🤷‍♀️

Baxdream · 19/10/2022 17:01

My current quote is £3.5 for an l shape with island.
Did anyone manage to get an additional discount?

As in once they gave you a price, did you haggle anymore?

SummerSazz · 19/10/2022 17:22

Just remembered mine was only 20mm thick as my kitchen is upstairs and couldn't be too heavy. I expect this made it cheaper compared to some of yours?

Skiphopbump · 19/10/2022 17:35

I used Blue Pearl granite for my quartz - highly recommend. They have a small showroom in Baldock where you can look at the samples. They were the best price too.

Parkingt111 · 20/10/2022 10:41

I used stone synergy and just recently and they were cheaper than gemini

Baxdream · 20/10/2022 18:14

I just got a quote from blue pearl and they were more expensive. I think im decided on Gemini.
Just waiting for one more sample to arrive

I used Gemini for our utility as they were the cheapest I could find. I am surprised to hear they were 2k for 1 piece - they ususlly sell 63cmx300cm length pieces for 600-700 pounds, loads of choice regarding colours and very quick to template and deliver. Only 2cm thick, but I prefer a thinner look.

NellyBarney · 20/10/2022 21:07

I paid Gemini 1.6k for my 5m utility quartz marble look worktop with Belfast sink cut out, fitting, bevelling and upstands on all 3 sides.
