Advice on moving home

Hi everyone, I know I need to use my own common sense here. But I feel so overwhelmed, that my brain isn't working. I need help!!
I've been given a completion date today, everyone in this chain are moving out same day.
I have a 9 month old, 6 year old, DH and myself both work. Luckily I do admin and it's from home. There is no help from outside.
I've been told to start packing up and getting ready for the move which is next Friday.
I had asked my buyer, if she would allow us a couple of days to move, with a baby and no help from outside it will make it hard for me. My buyer lives with her parents and won't be moving out right away.
I just needed time, so I could, get a new gas cooker installed, change the carpet in the new house, get curtains and wardrobes for the bedrooms.
She has refused saying, it will be her house and she doesn't want to be paying mortgage on her house whilst I live in it.
I understand!
I already have plans for tomorrow, I'll start my packing. I'll box up the girls toys and pack up clothes we don't need to wear etc.
I just need advice please, how do I move into the new house without changing carpets. If I put all the furniture in then moving it around to get carpet in will be hard.
Do we just live out of our suitcases and get the wardrobes in after.
How do people move into their new house without decorating or doing the bare minimum such as carpet change etc.
please please advice me.

This is a eye opener!
I wasn't aware of the time frame etc.
My solicitor is useless, when I ask questions about the move. I get no real answer. Thank god for mumsnet!

Are there any packing tips, you think could help?
I've bought these JOISCOPE 3 Pack 150L Clothes Storage Bag with Zipper and Handle, 600D Oxford Fabric Underbed Storage, Foldable, Large Capacity Waterproof Thick, Reinforced Luggage Bags for Home Moving, Travel-Silver amzn.eu/d/hWYBraM
I plan to pack all our clothes and kids borax games and books in these.

Have you booked a removal company yet?

You really need boxes, as these will stack on top of each other and be easier to pack into the van.

You need cardboard boxes. Lots of them. Lots and lots of them. As cheaply as you can get sturdy ones.

I've got plenty of cardboard boxes. No I have not yet booked the movers. Tomorrow fingers crossed I get my completion date. It has to be before the 31st as that's when my mortgage expires.

Plus packing tape to seal the boxes, and you'll need to write on the top what is in them and which room it's going into.

Do you have vans hired from the day before so you can get all the furniture into them? You won't have time on the morning unless you have removal men. The property must be completely empty by the time of completion, that could be 11:00 in the morning.

You can book the removals now - they hold the date and you then confirm it when completion is definite.

Then aim to pack a certain amount every day, starting with the least hard stuff. Small boxes for heavy stuff like crockery and books, bigger boxes for stuff like clothes and duvets. The removal company can usually provide wardrobe boxes which have a rail in - so everything just lifts out into the box and then out again at the other end.

Parcel tape and a marker pen - wrote on the tape what's in it and which room.
