Hi, I’m on the housing list for a council house, does anyone know what documents you need to provide once you have accepted a house please, just want to make sure I have it all together! Thanks

Have you provided anything so far? Often it is some form of ID, proof of address, and if applicable previous landlord references. This is usually at application stage though.

You may need to provide some rent upfront, so worth checking that in case you need to start putting money aside.

Usually ID for household and national insurance numbers.

Ok thank you! do you think I need to provide bank statements or anything like that, as my bank isn’t near me anymore as it closed so will have to go and get them also?

If you do online banking you can usually get them from there.

In the organisation I work for you would need bank statements (to prove affordability) Letters from health professionals etc if your being allocated a property for specific needs. ID for each household member (birth certs for children) Contact details for current landlord to pursue a reference and money for a month's rent in advance. Good luck!

Depends on the housing association, sometime it’s up to 3 months worth of bank statements but some don’t even ask. Some do credit checks, some don’t. It’s worth looking on their website as it might specify.
