What rate have you got, OP? I'm remortgaging and have been offered 3.9% for 5 years.

We are in a situation where we had a full mortgage offer issued recently (after decision on principle and valuation) but the address was wrong on the offer paperwork so it had to be resubmitted. Obviously a lot has happened this week since then and we are worried the offer will be pulled altogether now. We are hanging on to a decent rate. Also worried that if this purchase falls through we won’t be allowed to transfer the rate to a different property

Was the error made by the lender? If so, they'd more than likely honour the original rate.

I have been absolutely worried sick all week that my mortgage offer would be pulled before I get to complete on my purchase.

I've had my formal offer for about 5 months now, it's a 5yr fix at 1.99%, which was fine until last week, then all this talk of mortgage companies pulling everything started.

It didn't help that my solicitor went awol for 2 days, and I didn't know what was happening. Solicitor resurfaced today to confirm mortgage drawdown has been made, and that I will exchange tomorrow and complete on Friday so my lender (Santander), looks to be honouring firm offers already made, even if it puts them in the red.

Such a relief! Especially as most mortgage offers expire after 6 months. So glad you got your original amazing rate. You're right, as long as you have received your formal offer you're generally ok Smile

Not sure whose error but I suspect the mortgage broker who is now barely responding to messages

@Paddingtonthebear was the valuation done on the correct property? Some lenders will let you transfer the offer to a different property but unfortunately many would class this as a material change and insist on a brand new application. Fingers crossed for you.

No idea to be honest!
