Sage paint for dark room

I have a north facing spare room, it's the darkest room in the house. Since we have lived here (5 years), it's been three different colours and I've not been happy with any of them. It's currently painted in Borrowed Light by Farrow and Ball, which looks very blue and cold (considering it's such a light colour the blue is quite intense).

I've decided to have a fourth attempt at getting it right, and try a sage colour. I want it to be a warm sage, not duck-eggy, and not too dark. Mizzle looks very grey and drab in there. I've considered Vert de Terre but I'm still not sure it's quite right.

Can anyone suggest a vibrant but light sage coloured paint? Bonus points if it's chalky! Thanks 😄

I have Mizzle in a north facing bedroom. I was delighted how Sage green the finished look was. It looks nothing like the tin label which looks grey. I don’t know whether it’s the cream plantation blinds and cream furniture that brings out the green though.

DD has a much paler version of green in her kitchen and it’s gorgeous but I would say it is a shade of olive rather than sage which has grey undertones. It’s Dulux Heritage Green Earth is altogether warmer and lighter. It looks great on the walls, but she has dark olive glossy tiles and a cream kitchen and it pulled it all together perfectly.

you can get match pots easily from any Dulux decorator centre.

My mum and dad have a gorgeous sage green colour in their kitchen- it's a little greene one. I wanted it for my bathroom
But as it's an internal room it didn't work in there.

I have B&Q Good Home Limerick.

F&B oval room blue is a really beautiful colour. It changes from a sage green to more of a light teal with different light.

I have vert de terre and it looks very sage to me.

We have dulux overtly olive in our kitchen. It’s on the greener side of sage, but really soft and gorgeous.

Also much nicer than it looks online - the dulux little roller samples are really cheap and easy to try.

Also if you have Instagram, I often search for specific paint colours on there to see photos of it in lots of different lights. Surprising how many people tag their paint colour.

I am considering myrtle green by Mylands in a north facing room. I mean not done it yet so can't speak for how it looks but am hopeful. Smile

We have Dulux Tranquil Dawn, which is a lovely sage green, despite the name. Lighter than Mizzle etc.

We have Dulux Tranquil Dawn in a north facing room and it's lovely and gets lots of compliments!

Thanks all! I have had the tester of Vert de Terre in the room now for a bit and I'm coming round to it I think. But I will definitely try the others you've suggested too! Such a first world problem 🙈

We have "Green Stone" from Little Greene in our house. Lovely soft green.

Overtly olive (dulux i think) in our north facing spare room - it's lovely and cosy.
