Struggling to find a reputable solicitor to handle Help To Buy purchase

Thought I was sensible to take recommendations for solicitors from friends but finding most won't accept/don't want to take on Help to Buy. Found one that seemed helpful today, but when I drilled down to detail found their estimate left off additional £200 HtB + £200 new-build fees (I had been clear about this initially). I noticed their tone changed with me when I (politely) dug for detail. I'm feeling disheartened. I know hiding fees is common but I want to have a good gut feeling about who I use.

I've made other enquiries too and can't find any quotes under £3200 (NB I am buying a 1-bed flat not a mansion). And I'm nervous about jumping into the unknown. Realise I have to pay the going rate to get well-qualified professionals (I've been warned about online conveyancers who charge much less). But didn't think it would be a struggle to find someone who wanted my trade.

Any advice?

HTB is being got rid of, so I suppose that’s why you’re struggling. Plus it’s a lot of extra work.

Is the £3,200 including searches and SDLT?

Online conveyancers can be good. Have a look on Trust Pilot.

We took a decision to stop doing them as if you do them properly they are so much extra work
