Concreted in swing set

I had my swing set concreted into my garden as I wasn't planning to move then.

If my buyers don't want it (they don't have children but are a youngish married couple so maybe planning them) what do I need to do to get rid of it? Would I need to get someone to saw through the poles as close to the ground as possible and then skip it or try and take it with me (it's still very much used but not sure if it will end up too short after being cut)?

Anyone with any experience of this?

I think if it’s concreted in, you should just leave it.

minipie · 01/09/2022 15:13

Yes agree, it’s a fixture and should be left. New owners can remove if they want to

kegofcoffee · 01/09/2022 15:15

I wouldn't just leave it without asking first.

HandbagsnGladrags · 01/09/2022 15:15

Why don't you ask the buyers whether they want it left there? As parents of grown up children, we wouldn't.

kegofcoffee · 01/09/2022 15:16

Pressed send to early.

Hard to know without seeing it and know if it's work salvaging. But you might be able to be someone to break the concrete up around the posts so you can get it out without cutting it up.

Get it in market place someone will take it

PuttingDownRoots · 01/09/2022 15:18

We got left a swing... we were asked though. Its presumptuous to just leave it for them to dispose of unwanted.

AverageJoan · 01/09/2022 15:23

I would leave it, presumably it was in the ground when they viewed the house so it's not just appeared for them unaware

MarianneVos · 01/09/2022 15:26

I'm definitely going to ask! Just asking what to do if they say no.

It was there when they viewed but they wouldn't have known it was concreted in unless they tried to lift it.

As it's concreeted in I would say leave it - add it to the fixtures and fittings list.

If they say thy want it removed I'd say something like as it's concreted in efforts will be made to "make good" but can't guaurentee it will look amazing then just do your best to get it all out!

DH just broke up the concrete on ours, put it on FB with the condition that they buyer had to disassemble it on collection. Sold it in hours.
