it's not been up long but kids have swapped rooms so hence paper needs to come down (big Spiderman one, no good for a baby!!)

get a steamer for the walls, not even worth starting without one. They are about £30 from B and q. All you need other than that is a scraper. Hold the steamer onto the wall and scrape the paper off.

Second a steamer and scraper.

I used a Black and Decker which was about £30 from Amazon. Just leave the windows open Grin

Get a scraper with a blade on the end of it. They make the whole job a million times easier. Buy a pack of spare blades and swap them regularly.

Steamers are great but be careful using them in old houses as they can blow the plaster. I think damping the paper with water and waiting a bit is just as good.

@Geneticsbunny is right take care with a steamer.

If the paper hasn’t been up long it should be easy to remove after you have dampened it down with a sponge, score it gently if it’s thicker paper.

Thank you all!!!
Iv got a steamer and scraper ready for Monday when the tribe are back at school!!

the plaster underneath is only 2 years old as we did a full renovation and it's part of an extension and the paper is rice paperthin as you can imagen with a kids one!!

Be careful, someone I know burned her face so keep a bit of distance if you can.

If the plaster is only a skim coat, don't use a steam stripper. If it was a full re-plaster you should be okay.

It might be a vinyl paper where the top layer will peel off quite easily, leaving the bottom one you can then paint over.

I like a garden sprayer, set to mist. Go round the whole room, starting at the top of the walls. By the time you get back to the start, the first lot will have soaked in. Add a little WUL to the water.

And a long-handled metal scraper.

Easiest way as people have said is with a steamer. Just be careful as you are pregnant. You may feel invincible but it's easy to topple off a ladder. Stay safe.

It's a new part of the house so all new full plaster so it'll be fine for steaming, paper is like rice paper so will just fall off hopefully.
Il just take my time doing it and I won't be doing any ladders !! DH can do the high parts haha xx
