Front garden design - terraced house

Our front garden currently has some stones and some concrete tiles in it but looks a mess. There aren’t any plants growing in it so it’s a blank canvas otherwise. Can anyone inspire me with a way to smarten it up please? The house is a typical London terraced house and the space around 1.5m from house to front garden wall and around 3m wide.

I'd go the planting and garden route, depending on whether it gets much sun or not makes a difference. if you aren't that keen on gardening just go for evergreens and you'll only have to water and remember to feed every now and then. It'll make the world of difference to the look.

Is there any earth?

I'd plant some neat evergreens in the earth or containers. If containers then the bigger the better as you won't have to water as much. www.thompson-morgan.com/top-10-evergreen-shrubs-for-small-gardens.

Then have a couple of big containers that you put plastic pots in so you can switch around with the seasons. So big tub of tulips, one of daffodils, one with a dahlia one with grasses.

Thanks @BarrelOfOtters2 that’s really helpful. We will need to put some sort of hard surface down too eg tiles - any recommendations on styles etc.?

These two examples are classy. One blends in with the neighbours well. The other is simple but effective.,

Have you considered Astro turf by any chance ? 👀

A company called Everedge do tree rings (they’re meant to create a border round a tree trunk). I used them in my front garden to create planting areas surrounded by gravel. Before anyone moans, I have quite a lot of lawn as well.

The rings just help to highlight the best areas of the front garden.
