new house is desperate need for new kitchen but only have a tight budget for it (5K including fitting). its average size but do not want a crap kitchen would rather leave it. however I am curious to find out if there is a way (recommendations) to get a kitchen for less than highstreet store prices?

definitely IKEA!..... as i wish i had £5k to spend on a kitchen...def IKEA as even the cheap ones arent a cheap feel as its very good quality. We are looking into buying a cheap version kitchen with an oak worktop...all in will be £2000. We've got a big kitchen too.

....god, its only 9pm and I'm losing it already

forevermore · 20/01/2008 21:26

did you buy their appliances too?

No I didn't - except a built-in microwave. I wanted a integrated washing machine and IKEA don't sell washing machines

Bought my appliances from here. Thry do a price promise, so we hunted the internet for the cheapest prices we could find (inluding delivery) and they knocked £400 off the quote.

these people are very good. We bought some solid wood units from them for our utiity room. They are good quality and dirt cheap. I compared with B+Q, MFI and Ikea, and we saved quite a bit.

You don't have to buy via Ebay; if you can't find a package you like, they will price up the individual units for you. They'll even design for you, if you want, but you would have to find a joiner to fit it.

Why not buy a second-hand good quality hand built kitchen from ebay? Perhaps one with hand painted units that can be repainted and then buy new sink, worktops and appliances?

only their dishwasher, and no problems with it at all
