What is with the obsession over knocking down walls ?

How do these people heat their houses efficiently ?

The irony is most of these people who love open plan living would scoff at the notion of living in a yurt.

I like lots of seperate rooms. Perfect for a family, you can get away from each other. Even now it's just the two of us I like a choice of rooms to sit in.

My kitchen is big enough for a dining table and a sofa, which we did when DC were little. It also has double doors into the dining room. Apart from when DC were toddlers I never have those doors open.

I've been looking at moving lately and even new builds are open plan. Some fabulous barn conversions near me and the entire ground floor is just one room.
Every renovated house is open plan and I hate them. DS1 bought a house. All open downstairs. And he wonders why it's hard to keep warm.
