Tree near house, risk of subsidence, should I water?

I have a fig tree near my house , it is very mature , the house is a 1960s/ 70s build. It’s in clay soil. Should I give it a good drink in the hopes this will prevent it sending its roots out further in this heat? I fully intend to have it crown reduced this winter.

fig trees grow in hot dessert climates and can cope with drought. leave it alone.

Thanks for that. Any other opinions? Not disregarding yours Parietal but would be good to hear from other fig tree owners.

According to the NHBC, fig trees are low water consumption and they don't grow that tall. Might still be an issue if close and foundations aren't deep but I doubt that watering will do much.
