Woodgrain UPVC

We are buying a property, and hope to complete mid September.

One of the things flagged on the survey is that we need to urgently replace all the windows. The house is in a conservation area, but as long as the windows look very similar, we do not need planning permission (I have double checked this with the planning officer.)

We have started getting quotes (back of fag packet ones for now) for Woodgrain upvc and they are varying wildly. From £7.5k to £19k. All local companies, and most have done windows for people in the village before.

May I ask what price sounds about right for you please? 11 windows, and none are hugely massive.

Have a look at quickslide. We found their upvc wood grain sash windows for the best price via the unlikely sounding “Colin’s Sash Windows”

Although they are supply only

I had 7 average size windows done about 3 years ago. Cost £4,000. I would guess about £10,000 for 11 windows, allowing for price rises.

My quote (before going directly to the supplier) for supply and fit was just over 9k for 9 windows (four of which were three sashes each joined together). This was 2018

We had 5 plus two doors done in 2000. Cost £3,500. Having 4 new units (not entire windows) currently at £450, so would expect to pay between £12-£15k for 11 windows supplied and fitted.

Thanks everyone. That is really useful.
