Tips for living in a small flat

About to move into a 520sq feet/50sqm apartment. One bedroom apartment in a city centre location (I can see St Pauls Cathedral!).
Me and my partner.

Big living room, separate kitchen. Lots of built in storage.

Is it furnished? Otherwise try and have pieces that double up as storage, coffee tables, TV stands. There are all sorts of things you can put under the cabinets as storage to get things off the worktop.
Also split your wardrobe into summer/winter and vacuum pack what you’re not using.

Use the whole vertical height of the room - i.e. shelves to the ceiling, and get a bed that you can store things underneath.

De-clutter.

An extra spin after each wash reduces the drying time. The main thing that would really annoy me about living in a little flat again is laundry.

we lived in a tiny flat for years - a sofa that you could put things under was good also a bed with drawers helped us!

Used our suitcases as storage (vacuum packed summer clothes for example)

we only had 4 plates, 4 cups, bowls etc so it didn't take up a lot of space in cupboards

we didn't bother with a kitchen table - just used to eat on the sofa

Our first flat was 500sq ft. We had a view of the Thames and another big landmark which was amazing.

Storage under bed and sofa and wall to wall fitted cupboards. We also had underground parking, so could stash stuff in the car boot 😂

Storage in sofa and bed definitely! Don’t go overboard on clutter. Tidy things away immediately after use and have a place for everything. Make use of backs of doors, hooks etc or storing bits and pieces behind the door.
