Buying nearly new house - questions

Hi all, just looking to buy a house which is about 18 months old. Single storey, underfloor heating (no radiators except for towel rails in bathrooms), solar panels/battery system installed 6 months ago.
We always have building survey when buying, but in this case think that a snagging survey would be more useful. Snagging survey company say they can do it up to 2 years old - and a new build is covered for faults by the builder for 2 years, then it goes to the NHBC or similar 10 year warranty. Anyone done similar?
Also wondering if it would be usual to go back to the house and try all taps, showers, heating, check appliances etc before completion? Have been living in Scotland where the buyer has 7 days to check and report faults after purchase, but it does not seem to apply in England.
Would appreciate any advice if you've done similar!
