Circulating heat pump in a power cut

This is probably very obvious but I'm looking for some advice in simple terms! My house is heated by a stove with back burner to heat radiators. My issue is if there is a power cut the circulating pump won't kick in and so I can't run the fire without it banging and boiling and I suppose eventually exploding. I have read about a back up battery plug system which could kick in if there is no power. How would this work? The circulation pump is hard wired in so would need to change this but what kind of battery? Or any other ways to light the stove in a power cut?
