Help me with bathroom layout

We have been trying to decide on bathroom layout with our design company for the last two month and I still feel like we are not getting anywhere!
it's an oddly narrow family bathroom in which we would like to get a decent bath for kids, some storage, shower and a sink that is big enough for a family bath with some drawers.
At the moment we have a shower, toilet and sink on one side of the bath and empty wall on the other. The current layout does not allow much storage and the sink is just a round basin.
I am attaching two suggested designs. Neither of them are great and I feel stuck!
In the first one the toilet feels very cramped and the second one has a very small sink!

What am I missing? Should we consider any other configurations?
there must be a better way to use the space!

Thanks in advance for any ideas or comments

I prefer the first. You’ll be grateful for the empty space opposite for getting changed in. The sink close to the loo like that can be very handy. Make sure you get a wide and tall heated towel rail make the storage wider and have under sink storage too. You can never have too much storage!!

I prefer first option but would look at quadrant shower in this shape to see if it is better use of space. With the pentagon shape you could maybe place the sink almost right next to it without making it feel crammed. Ikea has great bathroom storage options by the way, it's worth a look if you haven't already. We got our bathroom fitted by an independent company and they recommend getting ikea units. They are in great nick 10 years on so I would definitely get again.

Where is the existing drainage and water supply?

If it was me I would prefer the sink next to the loo rather than opposite it. (Recently had vomiting and diarrhoea and to be able to reach over the sink while unable to get off the loo was the decider about which of our bathrooms to use!)

Tbh, I’d go for shower over bath than cramped walk in-especially if it has doors which collect all sorts of gunk. Then you could have a nice big vanity unit. You can get 800mm wide baths which would give you good showering area rather than those p shaped baths so it looks more streamlined.
