Can anyone advise on nice areas of Birmingham. Preferably a house up to £300k.

Stirchley, Kings Heath, Moseley are all nice areas and you should just about be able to buy a nice terraced house on a decent road for your budget.

Nothappyatwork · 26/07/2022 22:09

Harbourne,
Sutton Coldfield

MissStress · 26/07/2022 22:10

Edgbaston, Harbourne, Moseley

Leobynature · 26/07/2022 22:11

Harbourne, bearwood. Sutton Coldfield, Moseley, Solihull, Bournemouth, kings Heath

Nothappyatwork · 26/07/2022 22:15

Bournvile lol

Leobynature · 26/07/2022 22:17

Not Bournemouth bournville

Eileen101 · 26/07/2022 22:21

Harborne, bournville, Sutton Coldfield. Some nice places further out - Lichfield, streetly, little Aston - not sure you'd find much under £300k though.

DrDreReturns · 26/07/2022 22:23

You'll struggle with £300k in Harbone. It's des Res. Possibly Moseley.

anybloodyname · 26/07/2022 22:24

Sutton , Boldmere , Bournville , Harborne , Coften Hackett

Madbadandusuallysad · 26/07/2022 22:24

The areas Bubbles has suggested above will have some decent sized houses for your budget.

Don't know if this relevant for you but there are good primary and secondary schools near these areas and there are new train stations opening in all three of those areas in 2023, so a short walk to the station and then probably a maximum 15 minute journey into the city centre. They also have some nice independent shops and cafes, plus micro breweries to try.

Also Birmingham University is not far if you have kids that may be looking to study.

StarCourt · 26/07/2022 23:05

I don't think you'd get anything in Moseley for that budget but poss Kings Heath or Stirchley. Shirley is nice too

Allicando · 27/07/2022 07:26

Cotteridge is nice too, next to Bournville and Stirchley.

Cotteridge Sold but gives you an idea.

Depends though what you are looking for - good schools? Off road parking? period etc. I have lived all over Kings Heath, Bournville and then settled in Sutton Coldfield whilst the dc were going through school.

carrierbagz · 27/07/2022 08:18

Quinton is nice, right next to Harborne but much cheaper and great transport connections. Halesowen worth a look too but a bit further out (not technically Birmingham).

I’m afraid you are unlikely to get a house for £300k in Solihull or Shirley. How many bedrooms do you need?

newbiename · 27/07/2022 12:08

Thanks all

Don't need schools. Would like off street parking. Some areas to look at thanks.

@newbiename fyi. stirchley, cotteridge and kings heath can be difficult to find off street parking.

tryingtodobetter1 · 27/07/2022 13:07

Bournville is really nice, depends on how many rooms and what other specifications you have as to whether your budget will work.

TurquoiseDress · 27/07/2022 14:00

I had a couple of university friends from Birmingham so visited it quite a bit over the years

Four Oaks
Streetly

More towards central Birmingham
Edgbaston
Harbourne

ohblowmedown · 27/07/2022 14:01

Harborne, Moseley, Sutton Coldfield (massive park there)

TurquoiseDress · 27/07/2022 14:01

Sorry just seen your budget, I went off on one listing all the lovely Brum towns I've been to!

mothernaturesdaughter · 27/07/2022 14:04

Harbourne, Mosley, Solihull, Kinds Heath, Bournville is lovely. Might be difficult for off street parking in some of these places though.

TurquoiseDress · 27/07/2022 14:05

300k for a house!

Off to convince DH to move to Birmingham!Grin

This is Quinton but not far from Harborne and easy bus trip into city centre.
