Which house?

One all done up but on a main road and a plus one mile walk to public transport.

One needs a bit of work (c20k) but much better location. 5 min walk from public transport and on a cul de sac.

Both in same suburb of a big city. Same asking price.

@TwoMonthsOff

Pretty much spot on. Imagine that look in a terrace in a northern city and it sums up the house.

Thinking positively, I was a carefree student in the late 90s. Maybe I could move in and dream about those days for a few years 😂. Stick some posters up, burn some incense, drink cheap wine out of chipped mugs. It could be worse!

Snap @RainCloud !

We have offered (40k over the asking FFS) on a stunning fully renovated dream home…. On a fast, busy main road in the sticks. No garden (just a yard), no shops or pubs within walking distance but lots of green space, lovely walks .

Ive gone from joy (at no more DIY ever) to WTF have I done? panic.

Tomorrow I’m viewing a lovely old wreck in a quiet suburban street near dog-friendly beaches, pubs, train station etc that’s 60k cheaper but needs everything doing.

it’s not just the busy road at the perfect house that’s putting me off ( I’m worried sick about the dog being killed), but the thought of being bored to death in a home that needs no creative input.

My mum thinks I’m nuts to prefer a wreck too btw! 😊

Neither of them are stunningly renovated. The one that the pensioner dictator is stamping her feet over is cheaply done up and on a main road with no parking.
