Buyers solicitors are useless!!

We accepted an offer on our property 1st April 2022. From the beginning our buyers solicitors have been slow and have had to be chased multiple times for replies which never came.

This has resulted in us, for the past 3 weeks in a row, being let down at last minute to complete. We still haven't even exchanged! Our mortgage funds have had to be sent back which has cost us more money. We were supposed to be moving Today for the 3rd Time which obviously hasn't happened.

Really cheesed off at this point. We are living out of boxes, have given away all our furniture as we were going to buy new, we thought we were being g super organised as we were moving 3 wks ago!!!

Makes it even more frustrating that we cannot even contact their solicitors as they are not acting for us.

Just wanted to see if there is anything anyone e could suggest. How on earth can they get away with messing us around like this?

Thanks

Ah thought the whole process needed to be done again from the start?
This is just a nightmare in what should of been pretty easy transaction. Our vendor has no chain and our buyers are 1st time buyers. I cannot believe the amount if cock ups! The first completion date they failed to tie up their end, they then denied confirming the date of, even though the email was sent to my solicitors..

I can completely sympathise as we had exactly the same. I ended up chasing the buyers solicitor myself. They were an online firm so I couldn't call into the office but I found out the name of the owners of the company and started chasing them online. I used Twitter, LinkedIn and even found a YouTube video they had made and commented on that. I just kept on at it.

We did move eventually. If I ever move again I will be putting certain stipulations with regards to solicitors my buyers use because a quick Google and it was clear that this firm of solicitors are always complete crap.

Hope you get moving soon!

Well suprise suprise! I added a trust pilot review this morning and they responded to ask for my details. She called me and asked me what the problem was. As soon as I said they weren't acting obo us her tune changed. I said 'how about you look I to this and see where things are at for me?' SHE HAD THE BARE FACED CHEEK TO SAY 'How about you remove the trust pilot review' 😮i said ABSOLUTELY NOT, UNTIL THIS IS SORTED!!!

Myself and my estate agent chase every day, ringing and emailing. She is still AWOL.

My son & his partner are frustrated first time buyers with a rubbish solicitor, incapable of getting names and email addresses right, or assembling all the paperwork.
It is otherwise a simple transaction and should have gone through weeks ago. The delay will cost them at least a months rent now.
I might suggest Trustpilot!

I found out today my buyer is using a family member to do his conveyancing hence the general crapness and yesterday they asked for an indemnity policy over a wall that was removed/put up/changed when the building was converted to flats in 1974! That's 48 years ago! My solicitor just said no didn't even pass it on to me.
