Are Ring doorbells worth it

Have been thinking about getting a ring doorbell for a while. Are they worth it please and where do I start with which one to go for? It all looks very confusing. We don't have an Alexa, would just like it set up to our phones. I think it will be useful for seeing who is at the door when we are out or in the garden, and also for security at night. Also, how much is the ring subscription please? Many thanks

We have the Eufy battery one, I like it. I wish we'd got one years ago. I like the motion detection at the bottom of the driveway. I didn't want to pay for a monthly subscription with Ring.

Pp complaining about the delay to receive the alerts are probably just relying on the app and perhaps have poor signal. If you get a Ring Chime, or have an Amazon Echo speaker (Dot or Show) with a good wifi connection, the alerts come through immediately. We also got the power plug for the doorbell, so it is powered and doesn't need charging.

We have a floodlight cam and the alarm system too.

We have had delays on Ring alerts on holiday, it is always because of poor internet signal at our destination which is usually quite poor caravan site wifi or poor phone signal, in our home town it's fine

The subscription put me off, along with having to buy extra bits to get it to work effectively (e.g, chime).

Though one of the neighbours used theirs very effectively to capture a face shot of the man that doesn't pick up dog poo and post it on Facebook. So, there that. Grin

We got ours because dh works in the loft and it takes a while to get to the front door.
I love the fact that we can see the kids coming and going (teenagers).

It is useful in the garden if I am waiting for a delivery as an alert pops up on my Apple Watch so I don't miss it

Round our way they're very nickable. Thieves prize them off & steal them.

We've decided against and are getting a basic wired in doorbell installed!

Another vote for Eufy over Ring, brilliant products. We actually have the cameras rather than the doorbell as we get a notification if anyone comes to the door through that.

I love to scare my husband on ours so it’s well worth it for me

Have 2 rings, when the subscription increase comes in we'll switch to Eufy. There is a pretty long delay for the ring to come through, 2-3 seconds. And our network is in a very good state.
