Is it possible to extend without replacing kitchen?

If you want to extend your kitchen can this be done without actually having to replace the kitchen? Am I being mad?

Finances are an issue (obviously!!)

Are you moving a wall in the extension that has kitchen units on? You're probably really likely to damage them getting them off the wall, so I'd imagine that wouldn't work well! I helped with the demo at our friends recently and it's surprisingly easy to rip a kitchen out, I wouldn't think you'd be able to gently remove and repurpose a whole wall section.

Yes it can be done. We've moved/ changed/ repurposed lots of kitchens.
If you could give more details it would make it easier to give advice.
There is often a 'screw' inside the door of the press. It has a little arrow on it and if you unscrew it so the arrow points to the side wall of the press the side just comes off without any damage.
On the other hand if you need more kitchen presses and can't get ones to match get the closest and repaint all to the same colour.

We moved the end wall back 12 feet. It didn’t have cupboards on it and we bought matching cupboards to the original kitchen.

Oh so it’s a possibility!

Theres a few units on the outside wall but by no means the majority.

Thank you :)

We moved our entire kitchen to this house from our last one- and did it ourselves. Fortunately the makers of the doors still make the same range and sold us matching doors as this kitchen is larger than the old one.

Took all my units out and refitted them, so yes it can be done.

Reading this I now feel we were very heavy handed 😂 we literally didn't manage to save a single bit 😂 😬

Yes, we knocked down the back wall leaving the units in situ (on that wall at low level) and turned them into a breakfast bar.
