Morgage problems, just to moan

Basically, I'm at the end of my my tether, I feel I can't carry on like that....We found the property, made an offer, went to best and final, lost it, then week later EA went back to us asking to top up a bit our offer to be accepted, we agreed even if it stretched our finances (we really like the house)to the very end (with nothing left to refurbishment, and the house do require it, but still livable). Got EA's morgage advisor, she got us a nice deal, but bank took soooo long to approve it and do valuation. Valuation was table-top one, valued the property very low due to the house condition (traces of damp on the wall, but it looks like owners took care about it, just did not refurbish) and didn't take into account that property has 2 title deeds (one for house with garden and additional plot of land). While we were waiting for valuation we had problems with solicitors (finally they started to work). Appealed low valuation, which was refused. Friend of the friend (working for another EA for over 20 years) told us it's now common with table-top valuations, appeals do not usually work, try another lender, which could work. EA's morgage adviser can't find us anything suitable as lenders tighten the criteria after last interest increase. We found ourselves a good deal, spent 4 hours today on the meeting with banks' advisor and up to the very end of the meeting everything was very smooth, the last thing he said was to run our credit checks and something went wrong there (he couldn't tell us, as he couldn't see), he was surprised as my credit score is 980, my husband' is 999.... so he said he had to send it to underwriters to consider.... We just could not understand what went wrong as we straight away opened our credit reports and nothing is there which can trigger this... I was never superstitioous, but here I do not know what to think... Just want to cry :(

Sending to an underwriter to review is normal OP. Hopefully it will all work out fine.

Could it be because of the other mortgage offer? It may flag up as an existing mortgage or just be the recent credit checks done for the other mortgage?

In your position I would walk away from this house since you are likely to come up against the low valuation with another lender. Sorry.

If a hard search was done by first lender which it would have been and now second hard search in 6 months triggers a red flag.
