Thought so! Have seen a house for sale with it and Im trying to work out running costs before we put an offer on. I guess we dont have to use it just cos we have it!

My aunt installed it about 15 years ago. Used it for 3 months the first autumn/winter, got a bill of over 1k and never used it again.

Yep, I moved into a house with it. Merrily abandoned my slippers and was toasty all winter but then got an £800 bill for one quarter (this was before todays crazy prices), switched it off and have just used good old gas central heating ever since. It's a shame as it feels lovely to walk about on and heats a big space very evenly but it's really not worth the ££££s.

Just make sure they haven't removed all the radiators when they installed it though!

Yes, very ! But does depend on the area being heated .

I have it in kitchen and only put it on for cats in winter when it is very cold overnight. Have it in conservatory but rarely use it.

I might be your aunt 😂
We put it in bathrooms and it was horrendously expensive. We never turn it on now.

🤣 sadly not. Hers was in a massive kitchen and conservatory. She was so proud of it too and we all thought it was the fanciest thing in the world.

TeaChocKitKat · 05/07/2022 22:41

Hmmmm. Its in a kitchen diner but apparently the controls are split in two so you can heat one half and not the other. It still doesn't sound very practical especially with the way energy bills are at the moment.

We had it laid when we had a bathroom refurb. Only used it once as the controls are very complicated. I'm glad they are as I think I would have been tempted (long ago when electricity was more reasonable), but not now. Far too pricey
