Japanese style dehumidifier bathroom?

I read this article and am now obsessed by the idea of a bathroom that can also be used as a drying room. It’s such a good idea and would also fight off damp in the bathroom.
But we live in an Edwardian house and both bathrooms have external windows. Debating whether it would work better in a mud room downstairs. Or would I need mega insulation- our bathrooms both have external walls and are freezing.
Has anyone successfully installed one over here? Do you think I could?

Interesting but I don't see the bit where the humidity is removed? They are basically turning their bathroom into a very hot room. I think without the element that removes the moisture from the air you will end up with condensation mould.

The basic principle works though - we have always used the bathroom to hang washing. My mum had a retractable washing line over the bath.

You just open the window to let the moisture out. I have never found I needed to add extra heat to the equation. Washing generally dry within about 8-12 hours (overnight basically).

You can plumb in a proper dehumidifier in the bathroom, much more effective.

Just buy a dehumidifier and run it in the bathroom. We use one in our spare room to dry clothes and I’ve been known to move it to the bathroom when it’s got particularly steamy.

I assumed that the dehumidifier was plumbed in. We are a three dehumidifier home(!) plus window vacuum as it is such a cold and damp house. But I really liked the idea of having it all tidily built in. Rather than wheeling Meaco around. Maybe a pipe dream.
