Solicitor for conveyancing - recommendations?

Does anyone have a recommendation? My last one took forever to reply to an email, or just ignored any questions I had…I heard this seems to be a common thing, but I wonder if anyone had a good experience?

Mooney Everett were brilliant for our sale and purchase! I was CONSTANTLY mithering for updates and they were so accommodating and helpful! Such a better experience than when we bought our first house.

My experience based on three moves over the past 10 years is to get one that is local to you so that you can call in with documents etc when required and can go and physically ask them whats happening.

I have found that law generally and lawyers are not very good at using email etc and so its usually best to ring up and talk to the legal secretary rather to find out whats going on.

And also its not worth going for the lowest cost option - the difference of a few hundred (or even a few thousand) pounds is miniscule in the scheme of things

Definitely someone local to you with a good reputation. Ask on local groups. And if you are buying a particular type of property, I’d look for someone who may have expertise in that area if you expect anything tricky.
