Repairing chewed doors?

Anyone have any experience DIYing a repair to a wooden door that's been chewed? The advice I've seen online is to sand, use wood filler with a pallet knife, sand down, and re-paint. Feels doable and I have experience with sanding and painting, but I'm scared I'll make a pig's ear of the filling!

You need to make sure you use decent wood filler, like like this as very hard wearing. www.screwfix.com/p/ronseal-high-performance-wood-filler-natural-550g/51811?tc=PT6&ds_kid=92700058176434269&ds_rl=1249416&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIr9rcjPPC-AIVCb_tCh0J7goQEAQYBCABEgINHvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I would use thin metal filling blades as much easier to get a good finish then with a pallet knife. Once It’s mixed it goes hard very quickly! Don’t over fill as it’s a pain to rub down, once you’ve filled it give a coat of primer to see how good it looks or if it needs and more filling.

even if you don’t do a great job first time you can rub it down and try again!

They look like fibre doors rather than solid wood which may make it harder to look good but it's worth a go!
