Help me with the layout of my bungalow!

I live in a small bungalow. I don't want to move.

In an ideal world we'd have a loft conversion - but it's completely unrealistic financially right now.
I also think an extension could be out of the question due to cost. Maybe a conservatory if they're cheaper?
We have a budget of around 10-15k to make improvements.

Is there a way I can knock walls down, change the layout to make it feel more spacious?
Right now we feel crammed in! (2 adults and 1 3yr old)

Floor plan attached. What would you do with the layout or what could I do?

In the lounge I've marked where the tv currently is in green, the rectangles are my sofas and the circle is my table. My lounge is very narrow and is a walkthrough to the other rooms as you can see.

Any ideas welcome!
Thanks Daffodil

Probably outside the budget, but extending the front in line with the front of the porch would buy additional square footage in each of the front rooms (whatever use they have).

I would take out tgd kitchen wall to make a kitchen diner m and put in a stud wall in line with the ob y to make a living room. I hate living dining rooms though!

I don't think building control regs allow you to have a bedroom opening into the kitchen as some have suggested. I think it's because there's a risk of a fire starting in the kitchen, and no exit route for anyone in the bedroom.

Can you please recommend an architect in Stroud? For a bungalow extension. Thank you

I don’t really get the hate for conservatories. You just get blinds for summer, inc ceiling, and make sure the windows open, and of course, like any other room, ensure there is heating in there. 100 percent usable all year round.

I agree with not spending on building.
Reorganise and revisualise the furniture.
Measure space and furniture before buying anything.

Think of getting a high bed for your child with play space underneath but leave him/her in a cot or smaller bed for as long as they fit.
