and how does it look now ? Thank you.

Instead of paint do you have anywhere you could put a mirror where it would catch light from another room and reflect it. The mirror needs to go opposite or next to a window so it can catch the light.

I had a good-sized entrance leading into a long, narrow corridor, neither of which got any natural light unless the doors of the rooms were open.

I painted the walls a warm, sandy yellow. Sorry I can't tell you what, it was a long time ago. I lifted the flooring and found original floor boards underneath. So I sanded them and varnished them a clear, goldy colour. Then I added a brightly coloured rug in the entrance, and bright runners down the corridor.

You can get light-reflective paint, which works very well in this sort of situation. It's not shiny or glossy, but definitely makes the space brighter.

Oh yes, I had a mirror on one wall as well.

I used Dulux Trade Light and Space on my landing and a previous hallway for that reason, IMO it works well (though some decorators say it makies no difference, I'm 100% sure it works, having seen before with a standard emulsion and after with almost the exact same colour in L&S- a pale peachy cream, called Coastal Glow in L&S .) I use the Absolute White version of L&S on ceilings instead of a white emulsion, again, I think it makes rooms lighter, and it looks good on covings too.

Will look out for that paint, thank you .

I use the Trade version, it's a bit thicker, that's all.
